We've tried several kinds of these; this one is our favorite. We had one for years before it needed replaced (nicks & stains). It seems to be made of PVC so it's sturdy & resists mold. Bought two more as gifts. Both people were skeptical until they gave it a chance. Now they don't want to be without one so each wants me to order TWO more (one as a back up). Keeps most unwanted things (bones, toys, etc.) from going down the drain, yet it allows liquid to drain because of the notches underneath. It doesn't turn into a drain stopper. All the reviews we've read so far are very accurate.

I can't believe every brick-and-mortar home goods store doesn't sell this ingenious little product. I bought it originally at Walmart. They had it for about a minute, and then I never saw it again. EVER. Or anywhere else. Thank goodness for Amazon! When I found myself in a second home, I needed another and found it here. Anyone with a disposal needs this product. It works. It's durable. It's dishwasher-safe. And I wish I had invented it!
If you don't want an almond piece of plastic in your white or stainless-steel sink, then keep it stored in the dishwasher. It will be close to where you need to use it, and then you'll always remember to clean it when you run the washer.

Buyer Beware: The photograph is white --- the product was sent to me in almond color. The company claims they have never made the Safe-T-Stuffer in white.

This product is exactly what I wanted. It prevents items from falling into the garbage disposal, but allows water to drain. The design does not allow water to accumulate inside and create mold and odors like my last stuffer.
