Safe-T-Strips (Clear)May 17, 2010
By J. M. Smith These work great. As with many things in life, the trick to success is proper preparation, even when you are applying inexpensive non-skid strips in your tub or shower. That said, first make sure the tub is clean, clean, clean (use liquid soap, no abrasive cleaners), rinse w/ water, then rub the tub with alcohol and let dry overnight. Then apply strips in your desired pattern. My tub is blue so I used clear strips - two packages so they could be laid down every two inches or so, diagonally from both sides so the water flows toward the center of the tub and toward the drain. Then I applied rolling pressure to each strip with a small roller usually used for wallpaper seams. Then let the strips sit overnight before using the tub. Sorry if I sound like a mother or a teacher. But this process worked for me and the strips prevent slipping in the tub. I like them much better than the old rubber mat which always had its own set of problems, like accumulated soap and scum underneath.

Work well (when they stay in place)May 18, 2007
By Charles S. I recently put 12 of these strips in my bath tub. I followed all of the instructions (you must thoroughly clean and rinse the tub and let it dry, then apply the strips and not use the bath for at least 4 hours), and I actually did not use the tub for 16 hours after applying the strips. It has been 5 days since I installed them, and 4 of the strips have come off. The ones that stayed in place work well, but I was disappointed that so many have come off. Since the pack comes with 20 strips I can easily replace the ones that did not stick, but I also feel that shey should not come off so easily.

No miracle adhesive here.Jun 05, 2010
By M. Roeder Product will work fine if your floor base is clean and dry. But the secret is in application. I purchased a medium hard rubber hand roller to apply my second time around, first time some of them came up. You must roll this material down from the beginning while holding the remaining up and off the floor. My shower base had a slight "not smooth" surface texture that required the roller to get the strip adhesive into the small "dents" on the surface. The original manufacturer of the shower base made it with the least amount of anti-slip texture but when it was wet and soapy there was a possibility of a slip and fall. Conclusion: get yourself a medium hard hand roller (sold on Amazon named Marshaltown, I believe) and you can get the material stuck into the small imperfections some floors have. Seems to be a good functional product but the adhesive is no super glue and needs help sticking!

Safe T-StripsJul 24, 2007
By D Devlin I put two packs of these on my large shower floor. They work great, and do not detract from the apperance of the shower. I have large tiles on the floor and put three strips on each tile. They are really great. After 4 months they are starting to show a little, so I plan on replacing them, however this is for apperance sake only.

Works Great! Proper preparation is a MUST, though.Dec 17, 2010
By Martha Stewart Wannabe We have a "bone" (tan, really) tub. It's 30 years old, but looks almost brand new. One down side, though, is that there is no "non-slip" finish on the bottom. I haven't worried about it much until this year when my 80-something year-old father was coming to spend Thanksgiving with us. I wanted to take every precaution so that he didn't slip and fall when taking a shower, so tub treads were a must! The only colors I could find locally were white and blue, but I really wanted tan or clear so they would match the tub. Then I found these - hooray! One package was plenty for our tub (36" x 60"). I read the reviews about someone having trouble with the treads coming up, and then another review talking about tips for tub preparation to prevent such a problem. I used the tips. HERE IS WHAT I DID TO INSTALL THESE TUB TREADS: FIRST, I scrubbed the tub with comet and rinsed and rinsed and rinsed, then wiped with a clean, dry washcloth. NEXT, I scrubbed the tub with baking soda and rinsed, then again wiped with a clean, dry washcloth. THEN I used a clean washcloth with rubbing alcohol on it to wipe down the bottom of the tub. LAST, I let the tub dry for about 2 hours just to be sure. Then I applied the treads as stated on the package. I used a round plastic shower curtain holder to rub over each tread and make sure no air bubbles remained underneath. Then I posted a sign in the bathroom to be sure no one used the tub for 24 hours. VOILA! It's been a little over 4 weeks now, and they all remain perfectly adhered to the tub. THANK YOU to safe-t-strips for the product, and THANK YOU to the customer who took the time to review the product and offer the advice about wiping the tub with alcohol!
UPDATE: It has now been 10 months since the treads were applied, and they are still adhered as nicely as day one. =-)
