 DOES NOT FIT NEW CANS!Sep 30, 2011

I have been using these for a while to keep 1/2 can of soda fresh for up to one day. They worked fine, at least as well as my makeshift plastic bag with a snug glass over the top, but they look nicer and fit better in the refrigerator. My old one suddenly stopped working, it would go on a little rougher, but I had a really hard time getting it off, as did my husband, to the point of being unusable. I bought new ones since I figured mine was broken. Same problem!
Eventually I realized that the top of the cans of soda I always buy (Coke) have changed... There is a slant just inside the top instead of going straight down and that is what is causing the problem. I then saw the same new top on 7-up cans, from a different company. This may be the same issue with all new cans, but these are the only ones I have seen.
Please check the top of the cans you want to use these on. If the angle just inside the rim is about 45 degrees instead of straight down you will probably have this problem.

My first review below was written after about a week of using the tops at which time I gave them a 5 star rating.
Now, after five months, I've broken three of them trying to get them off the empty can. In all fairness, this is three of about 300 uses.
Haven't found the trick if there is one to getting the cap to let go ... in fact, I have not figured out what makes them decide to cling tenaciously to the can; but whatever it is it defies subtlety. Probably won't buy any more.

I don't know what all the controversy is about ... these things work GREAT! At least, after I read the directions they did. The first time I just tried to force one over an open can and wound up bending the can and spilling soda all over. THEN I read the directions. Quite simple, really; just unscrew the cap, place on top of the can, and then push on the top between the "ears". Snapped right on my Coke product cans. When you're done, push the ears towards the middle and it comes right off.
No longer have to put up with flat soda for the three days it takes me to drink one. Try 'em.

I bought these for my elderly parents who cannot finish a can of pop at one time. They like to travel with these and the best part--they are able to attach and remove without help!

These are such a great idea for anyone that has kids or drinks out of cans on a regular basis. Easy to clean and help you save money by not wasting half a can of soda.
